The originality of this research lies in its focus on linking the study of the Qur’an and Hadith with the attitude of religious moderation in Muhammadiyah institutions.
2025-05-11T21:19:56+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 JIE (Journal of Islamic Education)https://www.ejournal.stitmuhbangil.ac.id/index.php/jie/article/view/612Optimization of Basic Teaching Skills of Islamic Education Students in the Kampus Mengajar Program 2025-06-12T22:42:45+07:00Defi Anita Listarig000214114@student.ums.ac.idMuhammad Wildan Shohibg000214114@student.ums.ac.id
The purpose of this study was to explore in depth the profile of basic teaching skills of Islamic Religious Education students at the Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta and to find out how these students can optimize their basic teaching skills through the Kampus Mengajar program. This study used a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The researcher used semi-structured interviews and participant observation as primary data sources and documentation analysis as secondary data sources. The primary data sources were obtained through interviews with lecturers and several students who had completed the microteaching course and participated in the Kampus Mengajar program. The researcher used the interactive data analysis technique of Miles and Huberman, involving data reduction, data presentation, and concluding. The data validity technique used triangulation. Based on the results of the study, the profile of basic teaching skills of Islamic Religious Education students was in the very good category for the aspects of opening subjects, mastering the class, asking questions, closing lessons, explaining, and providing reinforcement. However, in the aspects of variation and small group discussions, students' skills were still quite adequate. In addition, students were able to maximize their basic teaching skills during the Kampus Mengajar program. Prospective student teachers who participate in the Campus Teaching program receive various significant opportunities and benefits that can contribute to the development of skills and financial support for teachers in general.
2025-05-15T05:16:16+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 JIE (Journal of Islamic Education)https://www.ejournal.stitmuhbangil.ac.id/index.php/jie/article/view/638The Effectiveness of TikTok as an Online Learning Platform for Islamic Education2025-05-23T11:07:47+07:00Fandi Khusnul Jazafandi.khusnul.fai22@mail.umy.ac.idAnisa Dwi Makrufianisadwimakrufi2@gmail.com
Digital technology has transformed how individuals acquire information, including in religious education. TikTok, one of the most popular social media platforms, is increasingly used as a medium for Islamic Religious Education (PAI). This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of TikTok in enhancing students’ understanding and application of Islamic values during online learning, with a specific focus on content delivered by Ustaz Irfan Rizki Haas. In this context, Although not officially mandated by schools, TikTok functions as a supplementary resource, utilized by teachers and accessed independently by students as part of their online Islamic religious education, Ustaz Irfan Rizki Haas, a well-known digital preacher with over 2.4 million followers. His unique approach to digital da'wah, characterized by engaging storytelling, emotional delivery, and contextual relevance, positions him as a central figure in this study. A descriptive quantitative method was employed, involving an online survey of 100 junior and senior high school students in Indonesia who actively engage with religious content on TikTok, particularly from Ustaz Irfan. The results indicate that 88% of respondents felt more motivated to learn about Islam, 87% reported an improvement in applying Islamic values in daily life, and 85% found themselves better able to distinguish between valid and misleading religious information. While TikTok demonstrates considerable potential as an innovative medium for Islamic learning, concerns remain regarding content credibility. Therefore, the involvement of educators and religious scholars is essential to guide students in critically engaging with accurate religious information. This study highlights TikTok’s role not only as a digital da'wah medium but also as a strategic tool in modern Islamic education, with Ustaz Irfan Rizki Haas serving as an influential role model. Future research is encouraged to explore the long-term impact of TikTok on Islamic religious education among students and to develop systematic content moderation strategies to ensure the quality and integrity of educational content delivered through the platform.
2025-05-23T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 JIE (Journal of Islamic Education)https://www.ejournal.stitmuhbangil.ac.id/index.php/jie/article/view/646Realization of Hubbul Ilmii Book to Improve Basic Reading Skills in Lower Grade Students2025-06-12T22:48:33+07:00Eftiana Dwi Zhahranieftianadwi06@gmail.comAfiful Ikhwanafifulikhwan@gmail.comDevid Dwi Erwahyudindeviderwahyudin@umpo.ac.id
The purpose of this study is to analyze more deeply about the effectiveness of the realization of the Hubbul Ilmii book in improving basic reading skills in lower grade students. These namely students are at the elementary school level from grade 1 to grade 3. This study was conducted at the Griya Qur'an Al Inayah Pulung Ponorogo Foundation. The method used is a qualitative approach to the case study type, data collection used with semi-structured interviews, non-participant observation, and documentation. The primary data sources in this study were the female teachers who accompanied the study, the students, and the head of the foundation. The data analysis technique used the Miles and Huberman model, namely data collection, reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. Data validity was carried out by triangulation, which includes technical triangulation, data source triangulation, and time triangulation. The results of this study were found to be obstacles to students' reading difficulties in elementary schools, namely difficulty in distinguishing the same letter shapes. The realization of learning media used from the Hubbul Ilmii book can facilitate students' early reading skills with the introduction of vowels and syllables in just 36 meetings divided into three levels, increasing children's reading skills at each meeting. The use of Hubbul Ilmii book media and the method of cutting, coloring and sticking letters can have a positive impact on students, especially in terms of learning basic reading. Students become more focused, do not feel bored and can be involved in direct learning. In addition, students also find it easy to accept learning, making it easier for teachers to transfer knowledge to students.
2025-05-25T09:36:47+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 JIE (Journal of Islamic Education)https://www.ejournal.stitmuhbangil.ac.id/index.php/jie/article/view/615Strengthening Social Identity: The Role of Islamic Schools in Urban Muslim Communities2025-06-12T22:43:33+07:00Mu’aliminmualimin@uinkhas.ac.idImron Rosadymualimin@uinkhas.ac.id
This qualitative phenomenological study examines the role of SD Ulul Albab as an Islamic school in shaping the social identity of urban Muslim communities in Jember. Data were collected through participant observation, semi-structured, and curriculum document analysis. Using Miles' interactive analysis model and triangulation validation, the findings reveal three key aspects: First, Strengthening collective identity through structured programs (Qur’an memorisation, congregational prayers, family-based activities) that foster social cohesion, consistent with Tajfel & Turner's social identity theory regarding the cognitive-evaluative-affective functions of groups; Second, the dialectic between strong religious identity preservation and adaptation challenges in pluralistic societies, demonstrating the complexity of value internalisation according to Ellemers; Third, the potential for exclusivity as a logical consequence of intensive group identity formation, as anticipated in Tajfel's concept of ingroup favouritism. While providing theoretical contributions to understanding Islamic education as a medium for urban identity construction, the single-case study limitation necessitates follow-up comparative and longitudinal research. Practically, these findings recommend an integrative educational model that maintains Islamic distinctiveness while developing multicultural competencies as a response to the challenges of Indonesia's increasingly pluralistic urban society.
2025-06-03T08:14:12+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 JIE (Journal of Islamic Education)https://www.ejournal.stitmuhbangil.ac.id/index.php/jie/article/view/639Internalization of Islamic Leadership Character Values in State Islamic Senior High School Students (MAN) through Madrasah Intra-Student Organizations 2025-06-17T08:13:28+07:00Ichwanudinichwanudin244@gmail.comHappy Susantohappysusanto@umpo.ac.idAldo Redho Syamaldoredho@umpo.ac.id
This study aims to explore the internalization of Islamic leadership character values and to find out the challenges, solutions and results of internalizing Islamic leadership character values. The method used is a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis ethnographic design, which involves semi-structured interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. The subjects of the research were the mentor teacher, and students. Data analysis followed three stages, namely: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing or verification. The results showed that Madrasah Intra Student Organization (OSIM: Organisasi Siswa Intra Madrasah) activities play an important role in shaping student leadership character, with a focus on developing religiosity, moderation, honesty, trustworthy cooperation, and social care. Students who are actively involved in the OSIM experience improvements in communication skills, decision-making, and self-confidence. In addition, students also show better behaviour in social and academic interactions and are able to apply Islamic values in daily life. The conclusion of this study confirms that the internalization of Islamic leadership character values through the OSIM is effective in forming a young generation with integrity and noble character. Therefore, it is recommended that educational institutions continue to integrate Islamic values into the curriculum and extracurricular activities and provide greater support to coaches in implementing effective internalization strategies. Thus, it is hoped that the younger generation will not only excel in academic aspects but also have a strong commitment to Islamic values so that they are able to face future challenges with high integrity and social responsibility.
2025-06-12T21:58:51+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 JIE (Journal of Islamic Education)https://www.ejournal.stitmuhbangil.ac.id/index.php/jie/article/view/627Innovative Efforts of Islamic Education Teachers in Instilling Akhlakul Karimah in Autistic Students at Special Needs Schools (SLB)2025-06-17T09:33:19+07:00Febriani Arum Khusnul Khotimah Efi Tri Astutifebrianiarum936@gmail.comEfi Tri Astutifebrianiarum936@gmail.com
The purpose of this study was to describe and analyse in depth the innovative efforts made by Islamic Education teachers in fostering and instilling akhlakul karimah in autistic students at Pacitan Special School. The secondary data sources include school documents, scientific literature, and educational regulations related to Islamic education. The data were analysed using the Miles and Huberman approach with a narrative analysis type, namely analysing data in narrative form to understand experiences or perspectives. The results of the study indicate that the efforts of Islamic Education teachers in instilling good morals in autistic students are carried out through four main strategies, namely exemplary behaviour, habituation, supervision, and rewards and reprimands. In addition, the implementation of class trust programs, school agreements, and positive culture also play a role in forming a conducive learning environment. The success of this program is supported by collaboration between teachers, parents, and schools, despite facing challenges such as student learning difficulties and inconsistency in enforcing rules at home. It aims to offer a deeper understanding of Islamic beliefs, practices, and spiritual experiences. The research uses a literature review (library research) with a historical figure study approach. The researcher collected data from scientific articles, journals, books, and relevant documents, which were analyzed descriptively and qualitatively using content analysis. The findings of this study reveal that Schimmel's phenomenology is an approach that seeks to understand and penetrate the essence of religion by first examining its phenomena and then delving into the deeper layers of human responses to God until reaching the most profound sacred essence of each religion the centre, the divine, or Deus absconditus. This approach aims to interpret the meaning of Islamic teachings as understood and experienced by its followers rather than based on preconceived notions or the researcher's observations. In practice, this approach employs the concentric ring model theory, which helps create a more empathetic and objective understanding of the religious experiences of Muslims. This theory can serve as a valuable tool for interfaith dialogue and enhancing the image of Islam in the Western world.
2025-06-29T19:24:02+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 Rokhmatul Khoiro Amin Putri, Sita Isna Malyuna, Hanun Asrohah, Muhammad Thohir, Cynthia Llaneshttps://www.ejournal.stitmuhbangil.ac.id/index.php/jie/article/view/647Study of the Philosophy of Islamic Education by KH. Through a qualitative-descriptive approach based on literature study, this study examines the values, structures, and philosophical meanings of the thoughts of the two figures. The study results show that KH Ahmad Dahlan emphasised integrating religious knowledge and general knowledge in a curriculum that is adaptive to the development of the times. In contrast, KH Hasyim Asy'ari emphasised the importance of spirituality, sincerity, and character formation through Islamic boarding school education. Both agree that Islamic education must instil the values of faith, knowledge, and real deeds as the foundation for forming a superior generation. This study concludes that the integration of the rational-modern thoughts of KH Ahmad Dahlan and the spiritual-conservative thoughts of KH Hasyim Asy'ari can be the basis for developing a contextual, integrative, and adaptive Islamic education model to the challenges of modernity without losing its Islamic identity. The researchers expect that this finding will provide a practical contribution to the reconstruction of the Islamic education system in Indonesia to address the persistent dualism between modernity and traditionalism.
2025-06-30T00:00:00+07:00Copyright (c) 2025 Mohd Waffi Albaraq Bin Mokmin Mokmin, Happy Susanto, Aldo Redho Syam, Mokmin Basri
